Brewhouse South (1855 Galleria Blvd, Franklin, TN 37067) in Cool Springs is hosting a Perennial Artisan Ales tap takeover tonight starting at 5PM. Both Abraxas (a 10% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with ancho chili peppers, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and cinnamon sticks) and Sump (a 10.5% ABV Imperial Stout with Sump Coffee from the Cauca region of Colombia) will be pouring. If you missed out on bottles, this may be your best chance to taste both of these outstanding stouts. The takeover will also feature White Impala (a 6% ABV draft-only wheat IPA dry-hopped with Mosaic, Huell Melon, and Mandarina Bavaria), Hommel Bier (a 5.9% ABV draft-only Belgian pale ale with Chinook and Columus), and Saison de Lis (a 5% ABV straw colored Belgian-style Saison brewed with chamomile flowers).
Needless to say, this is a killer lineup with some of Perennial’s rare and draft only offerings. It’s definitely worth the trip out to Cool Springs for these great beers and if you haven’t been to Brewhouse South, you might not know that they have one of the best draft lists in the Nashville area. Sean Vaughan and Hunter Freemont do an excellent job of cultivating a list that truly has something for every beer drinker (including you Bud Light chugging brother). And unlike some of the other Brewhouses, Brewhouse South is non-smoking and is large enough to never seem crowded. My favorite thing about Brewhouse South has to be that all drafts under 10.1% ABV are half priced all weekend, every weekend. So, of course, it’s one of our go-to places for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. I’m hoping that one particular beer survives until lunch on Saturday. It’s easy for me to talk my wife into cheap pours of big Imperial Stouts.
